EDM artist, Rightkeysonly, and Grime MC, FRUIT, have released their debut single, Ymdrech on INOIS. The tracks brings together their unique styles and highlight the work they do in their community and pass on music to the next generation.
Ymdrech is out now, Rightkeysonly & FRUIT’s debut single. The track is about growing up with little money, taking refuge in youth clubs, and the false promise of change that was never put into action. Both artists grew up around Brecon, a rural part of Wales with few opportunities to just be kids. To accompany the song they have also produced a video showing their work. The pair decided to set-up open mics for young people in Brecon, empowering the next generation to be represented in music, no matter their background. The track is an effort to be the change, for themselves and others. It’s the voice of the communities silenced by poverty in Wales.
“Growing up in rural Wales, especially as a Disabled person and young carer, I wasn’t ever taught that a career in music was possible. The work that has gone into Ymdrech, the partnerships that supported, and the communities it managed to reach, have made this project something greater than little me could have ever dreamed of. My only hope is that Ymdrech inspires other young diverse people to follow their aspirations because their voices deserve to be heard too”

Rightkeysonly is an EDM artist, known for bringing experimental beats and heavy baselines to the music sector of Wales. She is also the lead singer for Liquid D’n’B band Keyz Collective and founder of Amplifying Accessibility. Keys uses music to empower other Disabled artists, like herself, with the hope of one day seeing a more inclusive sector.
“Ymdrech is a special one to me like not just because it’s about home, giving a voice to an area which most people don’t even know exists, but even creation of the song fitted the purpose of what it was about, it was recorded in my work office in my lunch break, as I was only in Cardiff for the day and we couldn’t afford to go to a studio. To see how this idea has turned into our debut single and an opportunity help our local community and help show the youngers the potential they have.”

FRUIT is an Alternative Grime MC hailing from Talgarth in the breathtaking Bannau Brycheiniog. From a council estate in the heart of the mountains, Fruit brings a unique blend of rough and rugged beats with heartfelt and passionate messages, proudly representing their culture, family, and area. Also the head honcho of Born A Definition aka A BAD Collective, combining the worlds of music and visual arts.
