Artist of the Month July: Celtic Deaf Festival

Artist of the Month is a feature where we put the spotlight on the incredible work of one of our members.

Logo showing the image of a red and white tent with speakers on either side, yellow flowers and stars. There is a Welsh flag at the top of the tent with a blue sky and sun shining behind it. Orange text reads: Celtic Deaf Festival.

For July, we’re putting the spotlight on one of our organisational members ahead of their festival next month: Celtic Deaf Festival!

Founded by Fiona Morgan, Bill Davies, and Elin Williams, Celtic Deaf Festival is a 'not for profit' event that happens every 2 years always on the weekend after the August Summer Bank holiday weekend.

It is exclusively for the Deaf community and for those who communicate in BSL (British Sign Language) with their friends and families. Celtic Deaf Festival is a cultural celebration of Deaf culture and Deaf language along with the enjoyment of MUSIC! (deep bass).

A weekend of camping and enjoying Deaf performers, outdoor activities, entertainment, meeting new and old face, social opportunities for stall holders and many more!

One of the festival’s founders, Elin Williams, explains all in this BSL video: https://www.facebook.com/CelticDeafFestival/videos/434629815842080/

This year’s festival is from Friday 30 August - Sunday 1 September in Cardigan, West Wales, SA43 1RB.
