Tribute to Elis Jones

We recently heard about the sad news of the passing of Elis Jones.

We first met Elis very soon after 2000, when he attended a DAC-led Disability Equality Training course for arts marketers. Very soon he had been elected to our Board of Trustees and became a staunch supporter of the organisation.

Elis was Treasurer for many years, then became Co-Chair along with Beverley Bell-Hughes. Honestly, we could not have asked for a more dedicated Trustee. Whatever was going on at DAC, Elis was there, seminars, performances, exhibitions, festivals, meetings with the funders, as well as the regular Trustee meetings when the board fulfilled their not inconsiderable duties.

Elis was truly a champion for DAC. He gave willingly, many many hours of his time and expertise and wisdom. We are so sad to hear of his passing. It feels that we have lost a good friend. We would like to offer heartfelt condolences to Ellis’s family and friends.
